Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Bangor, ME where you'll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state license in good standing with the State License Board.
• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Manager will consider candidates with extensive experience who hold a CRT only with prior approval; send CRT candidates for manager review.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, critical care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required for adult-only RT roles.
• For NICU/PICU/Peds roles: BLS and NRP required; PALS preferred.
• Experience with airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, non-invasive ventilation, code blue and rapid response, and inhaled medication administration.
• Experience with ventilators and equipment such as Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, EV300, and Vero Biotech Nitric Delivery is preferred. Familiarity with Drager ventilators is helpful for NICU roles.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic and Drager ventilators preferred.
• Previous NICU/PICU experience required if position is posted for those patient populations; candidate must also be comfortable working with adults.
• Critical care and protocol-driven RT team experience preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: Flex shifts with coverage spanning 0600-1900.
• Scheduling notes: Variable shifts possible; traveler may work days or nights when posted for variable shifts. Per manager, most needs are nights but traveler will not be required to flip back and forth within one week at present.
• Shift times used by the facility: 0645-1915 and 1845-0715 (for context on typical schedules).
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend.
• On-call: voluntary call only, 2 hours before shift start time and 2 hours after.
• Floating: float to other trained units only.
• Orientation: one general orientation shift with RT educator plus approximately 1 shift per unit trained to (generally 4-5 shifts).
