APEX Placement & Consulting has partnered with an exciting manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area looking to add a CNC Machinist to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be setting up and operating CNC milling equipment to produce high-quality machined parts while maintaining precision, safety, and efficiency. What your day will look like: 

• Produce machined parts by setting up and operating mills and/or CNC machines
• Review work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan machining operations
• Set up mills by tramming/indicating vises and work materials
• Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications
• Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues as needed
• Maintain safe operations by following all company safety procedures and regulations
• Complete preventative maintenance requirements on machinery and equipment
• Communicate effectively between shifts regarding production status, irregularities, and ongoing needs
• Work within all company quality system requirements and standards

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience
• Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
• 5-Axis Heidenhain experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and measurements
• Aerospace, automotive, or defense industry experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
