About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for Strategic Initiatives. The successful candidate will lead a team of development professionals in fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship across a diverse set of interdisciplinary priorities. This role involves serving as a strategic leader and coordinator, overseeing annual fundraising planning, and ensuring the team is well-positioned to expand philanthropic support. The Executive Director will also manage a personal portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, with a focus on securing significant gifts to support the company's mission. Applicants for the Executive Director position should be strategic, relationship-driven leaders with a proven track record in major gift fundraising. The role requires the ability to align teams around complex priorities, translate institutional needs into compelling donor opportunities, and maintain disciplined portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, at least 7 years of experience in development, and proficiency in CRM systems. Responsibilities include supervising staff, setting performance goals, and fostering a collaborative team culture. The Executive Director will also be responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting individual donors to secure gifts of $100,000 and above, and must be adept at managing a personal prospect portfolio.
