Human Resources (HR) Generalist

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to provide on-site support for a manufacturing team in California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can operate independently, build credibility across all levels of the plant, and deliver practical HR guidance in a fast-moving environment. The role will partner closely with local leadership and employees to strengthen day-to-day HR operations, employee support, and hiring activities while maintaining a detail-oriented and confidential approach.Responsibilities:• Serve as the primary HR contact for plant employees and supervisors, offering timely guidance on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, attendance matters, and performance-related questions.• Foster a respectful and accountable work environment by building strong partnerships with employees, front-line leaders, and site management.• Handle employee relations issues with discretion, assess situations carefully, and involve leadership or additional HR support when circumstances require escalation.• Lead recruiting efforts for hourly and skilled manufacturing positions by coordinating sourcing, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and supporting hiring decisions.• Organize and deliver onboarding activities for new hires, including orientation sessions, required paperwork, training materials, and policy reviews.• Oversee routine payroll and timekeeping administration by reviewing time records, following up on discrepancies, and helping managers complete approvals accurately and on schedule.• Maintain organized employee files and HR documentation while ensuring established policies and procedures are applied consistently across the site.• Identify recurring process challenges within HR operations and implement practical improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the employee experience.• Collaborate with plant leadership and corporate HR partners to support site initiatives, workforce needs, and ongoing people-related programs.
