Job Opportunity: Staff Physician (Neurologist)
Our organization is actively seeking to fill a position for a Staff Physician (Neurologist) . This role involves providing patient care, educating patients and their families, and engaging in relevant clinical research within the Neurology Service.
Incentives- Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be available for exceptionally qualified candidates.
- Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position qualifies for a student loan repayment program.
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients with neurological conditions.
- Engage in all aspects of Ambulatory Care.
- Educate medical students and residents, and supervise other healthcare providers as needed.
- Devote the majority of time to patient care and education, while allocating time for performance improvement and innovative research to enhance patient outcomes.
The Education Debt Reduction Program offers reimbursement for student loans, subject to specific eligibility criteria as outlined by VHA policy. Applications must be submitted within four months of appointment. Approval, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility periods (ranging from one to five years) will be determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after reviewing the application. Please note that former EDRP participants are not eligible to apply.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for continuing medical education (CME).
- Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with contributions up to 5% from the organization.
- Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options, many of which can be continued into retirement.
- Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
- CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year, contingent on full-time status and board certification.
- Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection is provided at no cost, including tail coverage.
- Contract: No physician employment contract is required, and there are no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
The work schedule is to be determined, but typically follows a Monday to Friday format in Central Standard Time (CST).
