Job Responsibilities Performs pulmonary function tests in accordance with the American Thoracic Society (ATS) standards. Explains procedure to be performed to patient prior to test and answers any questions throughout test. Observes, measures and records readings on metering devices of analysis equipment and conveys findings of tests and analyses to physician for interpretation. May measure sweat chloride to test for cystic fibrosis, using computerized analyzer. Responsible for daily equipment calibration. Education Associate's Degree Experience Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Approximately 2 years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Licenses and Certifications National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), with CPFT specialty credential. NYS Respiratory Therapist License.
