Industrial Architect

Lombard, ILArchitecture – Architecture /Full Time /On-siteThe Architect is responsible for the planning and design of a variety of building projects for industrial clients. Project types include code searches (general & for hazardous areas), design and planning of new buildings or the renovation of existing buildings, laboratories, offices, and research & production spaces. Responsibilities for this position also include production of construction documents (drawings & specifications). Required skills include an in depth understanding of codes for hazardous areas in industrial settings along with space planning & design for industrial spaces. This position provides technical knowledge in the architectural discipline and assists colleagues in solving complex design problems through state-of-the-art technology such as Building Information Modeling (Revit) and other visualization tools such as SketchUp, Rhino 3D, 3DS Max, etc. Responsibilities3-20 years of experience providing architectural design and construction document preparation and comprehensive construction administration as part of a professional architecture/engineering firm for Industrial projects at a minimum. Experience with building design in other market types is a plus.Ability to recommend best value design which meets client requirements for intended use as well as operability, reliability, maintainability, and safety in an industrial setting.Able to provide conceptual design planning to help clients understand the implications of proposed plant renovations through use of AutoCad/Revit.Able to generate design documentation, construction documents, and renderings utilizing 3D software (Revit, others)Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IBC, NFPA, ADA, etc.)Develops designs and produces drawings and specifications to define the architectural scope of projectsAble to work with all design team disciplines, including outside consultants, to achieve a fully coordinated project.Performs specialized investigations such as existing conditions verification and participates in comparisons of building system alternatives.Applies architectural theories, concepts, principles, and processes to provide solutions to complex design projectsMay assist in the review of the technical evaluation of construction bids received from contractorsMay participate, from time to time, in support of business development activities and provide support and input for client proposals, SOQs, and presentationsQualificationsArchitecture degree from an accredited US Architectural ProgramProficiency in AutoCAD/Revit/BIM 360 requiredLicensed as an architect in the state of IllinoisFamiliarity with code requirements for spaces in Industrial settings.NCARB Certification is a plusLEED AP Accreditation is a plusEligibility to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future$100,000 - $145,000 a yearSalaries for all positions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, total years of experience in the industry, education, skills, and qualifications. Compensation may vary depending on the candidate's individual background and expertise. Salaries are subject to fluctuation outside of the given range.
