The Office of Policy Standardization unit is a multifaceted group tasked with providing guidance, support and oversight in the development and modification of procedures and operations within the division. This office is divided into four units: Standardized Procedures, Community Partnerships, Religious Programs Oversight, and Food Services Unit. The Office oversees Inmate Religious Programs, Inmate Activity Groups, and programs coordinated by external volunteers, which are critical to the Department's rehabilitative efforts. Many Inmate Activity Groups are eligible for Rehabilitative Achievement Credits, which allow participants to earn time off their sentence for participation in self-help programming. The Office also oversees the management of food supplies and religious functions throughout the adult institutions.

The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real time updates throughout the hiring process.


HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application's progress.
