Job Description Mobility Specialist - Rehab Administration - Part Time Deliver Safe, Patient-Centered Mobility That Promotes Recovery Join the Rehabilitation and Nursing teams as a Mobility Specialist, helping patients achieve their highest level of safe mobility and function. Working under the direction of Rehabilitation, you'll collaborate closely with nurses and therapists to support daily mobility goals, promote independence, and contribute to an exceptional patient experience. Position Overview The Mobility Specialist provides mobility assistance to patients based on their AM-PAC Mobility Score and Johns Hopkins Highest Level of Mobility (JH-HLM) goal score. This role works collaboratively with Rehabilitation and Nursing to ensure patients are medically appropriate for activity and receive safe, consistent mobility support. Schedule Details Part Time - 32 hours a week Day Shift Holidays and Weekends required

Communicate individual patient progress with members of the healthcare team to ensure everyone is aware of the patient's current functional level. Collaborate with RN staff before mobilizing patients to confirm they are medically stable for activity. Utilize proper safe patient handling techniques, including appropriate body mechanics for lifting, turning, and positioning patients. Ensure appropriate patients are out of bed daily using equipment suited to their current level of function. Assist the therapy team as a second set of hands during therapy sessions when warranted. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient mobilization. Maintain appropriate PAR levels of Safe Patient Handling Equipment on the nursing unit. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accept non-routine work assignments as appropriate. Attend monthly Rehabilitation staff meetings as appropriate. Patient Contact Provides direct care to patients of all ages and interacts with family members when needed. Working Conditions Frequently exposed to disagreeable sights, sounds, odors, body waste, and similar conditions. Mental Demands Routine duties requiring judgment regarding priorities and decisions involving defined problems. Quality & Performance Caregivers are expected to actively participate in quality improvement processes, including: Identifying areas where quality improvement processes can be applied. Collecting and organizing quality measurement data. Participating on Quality Teams. Job Hazards Some exposure to hazards that might cause serious injury and require recovery time. Tasks involving patient mobility may present risks if proper safe patient handling techniques are not followed. Physical Demands Considerable physical activity associated with patient mobility. Occasionally required to push, move, and/or lift objects weighing 100+ pounds. Periodically required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Internal Contacts Daily contact with clients at all levels, including managers and employees. External Contacts Frequent contact with visitors, community agency representatives, and other healthcare-related organizations. Exposure Category Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, other tissues, and communicable diseases. Qualifications Education High school diploma/GED required. Must be knowledgeable in the use of computers Prefer successful completion of a CNA training course preferred or currently enrolled in a licensed nurse program or successfully completed a fundamental of nursing course or has had experience in the field of Therapy or previously completed internal training for a care partner role or mobility specialist Experience is desired but not required No specific license or certification is required Experience Experience desired but not necessary
