Business Development Coordinator - Emerging Technologies

Position Summary The Business Development Coordinator will handle marketing administrative tasks, help implement business development tactics for the Emerging Technologies group, support firm‑wide marketing initiatives, coordinate client/prospect research and analysis, bio updates, graphic design requests, pitches, proposals, events, webinars, social media posts, blog posts, client alerts, internal newsletters, and the profiling and tracking of experience and engagements. The role contributes as a core part of the Emerging Technologies team on shared projects, independently leads tasks, interacts with attorneys, and coordinates practice‑specific tasks including newsletters, reports, meetings, award submissions, and social media promotion. Job Duties And Responsibilities Support the Senior Business Development Manager on global business development and marketing projects for the Emerging practice group. Coordinate pitch materials, presentations, and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs); facilitate presentation preparation by creating and editing materials. Interact with Emerging Technologies Group Leaders and other attorneys to maintain strong working relationships. Edit marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and attorney biographies for print, website, and intranet; facilitate posting updates as required. Coordinate Emerging Technologies webinars, scheduling and logistics, invitations, promotions, and follow‑up tasks. Prepare and edit drafts of industry survey submissions; maintain repositories of group accolades and awards. Coordinate Reed Smith’s participation in local and national conferences, including reservations, RSVPs, advertisements, giveaways, logos, and sponsorship materials. Assist in planning client seminars and events, developing invitations, coordinating venues, speaker calls, event promotion, and day‑of needs. Manage attorney experience and client information in firmwide databases and CRM; help maintain intranet sites. Produce internal marketing materials such as newsletters, mailing lists, blogs, and capability documents. Work with Emerging Technologies attorneys to draft, edit, and post blogs and social media content on LinkedIn and Twitter. Assist with drafting group strategy meeting agendas, presentations, and circulate meeting summaries. Travel for meetings and training as required. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required. Experience: 2‑4 years of experience in a professional services marketing role desirable but not required. Must demonstrate exceptional organizational and time‑management skills, strong writing ability, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Must work independently and within cross‑functional teams. Skills Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Technologically savvy with an ability to quickly learn new database systems. Extremely detail‑oriented, proactive, self‑directed, and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines. Demonstrated professional judgment, poise, and professionalism when interacting internally and externally. Strong organizational, project management, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexible approach. Ability to handle multiple daily tasks and complete assignments within timelines. Additional Information Supervisory responsibilities: None Equipment used: Personal computer and standard office equipment (telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, etc.). Essential Job Functions Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and use computers and digital collaboration tools. Effective communication skills. Travel for meetings and training as required. Flexible to adjust working hours, including early start times occasionally, to support collaboration with international stakeholders. Working Conditions Office work minimum 4 days per week; occasional extended hours. Schedule details discussed with supervisor. Pay Ranges This is a non‑exempt position. Hourly wage range: $33.65 to $50.54 ; annual compensation range: $70,000 to $92,000 based on expected hours. Atlanta/Dallas: $33.65 – $41.82 per hour ($70,000 – $87,000 annually). Chicago: $38.46 – $50.54 per hour ($70,000 – $92,000 annually) – 35‑hour workweek.
