Controller

Our client is a fashion company. They seek a Controller to join their Brooklyn, NY office. Responsibilities Create, document, and implement internal accounting policies, workflows, and internal controls aligned with industry best practices, GAAP, and the financial structure of the company Manage and optimize the company’s COGS structure Establish and maintain departmental actuals versus budget tracking frameworks Direct the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS Present financial results and KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making Perform regular gross margin reviews and identify risks and opportunities to improve profitability Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax requirements Partner with the Head of Finance to guide finance-related ERP needs and support cross-functional teams in the implementation of systems Build reporting tools and automated workflows Supervise AP, AR, inventory accounting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations Requirements 5+ years of accounting experience Public/private/combo experience Retail, consumer products, wholesale, manufacturing, or related industry preferred Strong knowledge of technology and ERP implementation Ability to communicate and collaborate effectivelyDetail-oriented and highly analytical CPA is a preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Abacus Group, LLC
