About the Job Pre‑K Lead Teacher - $18.50-$24/hr - Full-Time - Paterson, NJ Tiny Steps Learning Center - Paterson, NJ Pay: $18.50-$24 per hour, based on experience, education, credentials, and performance Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday Reports to: Center Director or Executive Director Tiny Steps Learning Center is seeking a caring, experienced, and dependable Pre‑K Lead Teacher to lead a high‑quality classroom for children ages 3 to 5. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, strong in classroom management, and able to create a safe, structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Responsibilities Plan and implement daily lessons aligned with early childhood learning standards. Create a warm, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Use play‑based and developmentally appropriate learning activities. Supervise and support Assistant Teachers and classroom aides. Maintain positive classroom management and strong routines. Observe, assess, and document children's progress. Communicate professionally with families regarding progress, classroom activities, and milestones. Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, assessments, and required classroom documentation. Follow all Tiny Steps Learning Center policies, NJ childcare licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. New Jersey P-3 Certification is a plus. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead Teacher, Head Teacher, or Pre‑K Teacher in an early childhood setting. Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and classroom management. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors. Must meet NJ childcare clearance requirements. Benefits Competitive pay.
