Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: The Progressive Care Unit comprises 44 beds. The team consists of 95 staff members. The day shift includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. The night shift mirrors the day shift staffing. Patient ratios are 4/1 at grid and 5/1 when stretched. Key equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, trach, and patient lifts. Electronic medical records are managed through Cerner. Typical procedures performed on the unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO brace application, chest tube insertion, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain placement, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate is a team player focused on patient care. Floating areas may include stepdown units and med-surg units. A navy blue scrub color or attire is required. Every other weekend commitment is expected. This position is created to fill a vacant role.
