Based in San Jose, CA OVERVIEW The Council is seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented individual to provide support to the Executive Director and administer Project Labor Agreement (PLA) Prejob meetings. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience At least one year of relevant office administrative experience Previous experience in the construction industry preferred (but not required) Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills (proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suites, Outlook) Professional and dependable, organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy Ability to compose correspondence; grammar and proofreading skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow up Use initiative and independent judgement within established guidelines Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Handle sensitive and confidential assignments with tact and diplomacy Maintain data bases of contacts and project materials Develop relationships with Public Administrators and Construction Professionals Organize, schedule, conduct, and lead PLA Prejob meetings Troubleshoot and resolve issues Represent the Building Trades Council at business, community and public meetings Assist in organizing events and programs Assist in maintaining website, social media, and other communication strategies Attend meetings as the Executive Director’s representative Serve as liaison between the Executive Director and various agencies Conduct research, gather and assemble data requiring judgement and discretion Support the Executive Director as directed COMPENSATION Starting salary range of $65,000 – $80,000 commensurate with experience, including health and retirement benefits. The Operations Coordinator is a full-time salaried position with an office and benefits. The Operations Coordinator will be expected to work both regular hours and attend evening meetings and weekend events. The role does not allow a remote work option.
