L1 Embedded Software Production Support Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in NYC is seeking an Embedded Software Production Support Engineer to provide front-line technical support for embedded software products and customer environments. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, managing support tickets, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring timely resolution of customer concerns. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for issue triage, escalation management, and SLA tracking while supporting mission-critical embedded systems.

What You'll Do:
* Investigate, triage, and track technical issues reported by customers
* Manage support cases and escalations while maintaining SLA commitments
* Troubleshoot embedded software, operating systems, and related technologies
* Analyze logs, diagnostics, and system behavior to identify root causes
* Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve product defects and complex issues
* Communicate status updates and solutions to customers and internal stakeholders
* Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and knowledge base articles

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience supporting software applications, embedded systems, or technical products in a production environment
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* Experience working with ticketing systems, incident management, and escalation processes
* Ability to collaborate effectively across support, engineering, and operations teams
* Familiarity with embedded Linux, VxWorks, RTOS environments, or related embedded technologies is preferred
* Knowledge of C/C++, Python, networking fundamentals, or virtualization technologies is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
