Biotech Licensing Manager (Washington)

We are looking for an innovative biotechnology company in search of a US based Head of Business Development to manage global out-licensing strategy for biological and therapeutic assets.This is a completely remote opportunity available to candidates anywhere in the United States. The company is headquartered in Maryland, and candidates in Eastern Time Zone are strongly preferred to enhance executive collaboration and core business operations.Key RequirementThis position necessitates recent direct experience leading out-licensing transactions in a biotech or pharmaceutical company. Candidates must currently or recently have held a formal Business Development role within a biotech or pharma company. Experience in areas such as CROs, medical devices, healthcare services, or commercial sales roles will not qualify for this position.Role OverviewThis senior leader will be responsible for developing global licensing strategy, identifying strategic biopharma partners, structuring complex transactions, and enhancing enterprise value through impactful collaborations.Primary Responsibilities• Take the lead on global out-licensing initiatives for biologics and therapeutic programs• Identify, evaluate, and assess pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners• Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive intelligence for effective asset positioning• Negotiate licensing agreements, including valuations, milestone payments, royalties, and financial frameworks• Create and present high-level business cases and partnership proposals to senior stakeholders• Drive term sheet development, due diligence, and deal execution across various functions• Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, clinical, and executive teams to maximize portfolio value• Monitor partner performance post-deal to ensure contractual alignment and complianceQualifications• Hands-on experience in biotech out-licensing as part of recent Business Development leadership responsibilities• Extensive background in biopharmaceutical business development and strategic licensing• Proven success in negotiating complex global licensing transactions• Strong financial skills, including asset valuation and deal structuring• Profound knowledge of therapeutic development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategies• Executive-level relationship management abilities with a history of achieving measurable outcomes• Capability to manage multiple high-stakes initiatives simultaneously with precision and discretionThis role does not involve commercial sales.
