Assistant Nurse Manager Inpatient Trauma UnitAt Saint Francis Hospital, the Assistant Nurse Manager serves as a frontline nursing leader for the Inpatient Trauma Unit, supporting the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing a wide range of surgical and trauma-related conditions. This includes abdominal trauma, orthopedic trauma, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and neurosurgery patients.Working in partnership with the Nurse Manager, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams, the Assistant Nurse Manager helps lead daily operations, supports nursing excellence, promotes colleague engagement, and ensures the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient experience.What You Will DoHours: two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts.Shifts: Off shift and weekendsOff shift can include split shifts, evening, or nights.Support the operational, clinical, and leadership functions of the Inpatient Trauma Unit.Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.Provide frontline supervision, guidance, coaching, and support to nursing and support staff.Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, patient throughput, and resource management to ensure efficient unit operations.Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.Participate in performance management, employee engagement, retention, and succession planning initiatives.Foster an environment of collaboration, respect, inclusion, and professional growth aligned with Saint Francis Hospital and Trinity Health values.Minimum QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).Minimum 2–3 years of acute care nursing experience.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Connecticut or multistatePreferred QualificationsPrevious acute care and/or medical-surgical nursing experience.Prior leadership, charge nurse, supervisory, or management experience preferred.Experience within trauma, surgical, or inpatient acute care settings preferred.Compensation and BenefitsAt Trinity Health Of New England, we understand that our people are our greatest strength. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be compensated on a salary basis equivalent to the stated hourly range.
