Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts. The CNC Machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles the machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machine per order requirements; check material prior to and after CNC machine cycle; take corrective action when non-conforming material found by making offsets to tooling
• De-burr parts using metal file after machining cycle is complete
• Deliver parts to next internal customer for remaining operations or shipping
• Set-up operator requirements are additional
• Understands production cards, color coding and lot traceability; knows various thread pitches and reads drawings and blueprints
• Documentation Mastery: Keeping comprehensive records of CNC programs, tooling, and setup sheets are a critical aspect of your role. This documentation serves as a valuable resource for future projects and continuous improvement

Education and Experience Required:

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience required
• 3 years CNC, G-code experience
• Working knowledge of basic steel machinability, cutting speeds and finishes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Associate's degree (two-year college or technical school) Field of Study: CNC Machining, Computer-related field, or mechanical
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills & Mathematical skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety Requirements
