About the Role

Pinnacle Partners is recruiting for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician in Shelbyville, IN. This position will focus on repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment across the facility, including CNC equipment, robotic welders, stamping equipment, and automated production lines. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting, fabrication, welding, electrical, and PLC experience who is comfortable working across a variety of equipment and supporting new automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and troubleshoot broken or damaged production equipment throughout the facility.
• Maintain CNC machines, production equipment, robotic welders, and automated production lines in good working order.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment error codes and identify the root cause of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues.
• Use electrical meters to check voltages and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Connect to PLC systems to read and understand existing code and make basic edits as needed.
• Work with Mitsubishi PLC systems as well as other PLC platforms throughout the facility.
• Understand robot functions and make weld adjustments as needed.
• Understand and make jig adjustments to support production equipment.
• Support fabrication and repair of machine components, including making or modifying parts when necessary.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding as needed for machine repairs and fabrication.
• Utilize mills and lathes to manufacture parts for equipment repairs when necessary.
• Read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical drawings.
• Assist the Engineering Department with new design issues, equipment concerns, and improvement opportunities.
• Help with new automation and equipment projects.
• Assist with setting up new work cells and relocating equipment and assets.
• Support the installation and implementation of new robotic cells and automated equipment.
• Work across all areas of the production floor rather than being assigned to one specific area.
• Collaborate with the maintenance and engineering teams to keep production equipment operating efficiently.
• Support a variety of equipment and processes, including metal stamping, welded assemblies, E-coat painting, axle components, plastic injection molding, and robotic automation.
• Perform a combination of approximately 60% preventative maintenance, 20% immediate repairs, 10% programming/editing, and 10% miscellaneous maintenance activities.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
• Provide proactive troubleshooting and support to minimize equipment downtime.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
• Fabrication experience, including the ability to repair or make parts for broken equipment.
• PLC troubleshooting experience with the ability to connect to a PLC, read and understand existing code, and make basic edits.
• Experience with Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Motoman, or Panasonic robotics.
• Understanding of robot functions and weld adjustments.
• Ability to make jig adjustments.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical drawings.
• Experience using a meter to check voltages and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Ability to utilize mills and lathes to make parts for equipment repairs as needed.
• General understanding of industrial automation and automated production equipment.
• Ability to assist with setting up new work cells and relocating equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.
• Must be able to provide and use their own standard maintenance tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM.

Preferred:

• Experience with Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience working with robotic production equipment.
• Experience in a metal stamping or automotive supplier environment.
• Experience with CNC machinery.
• Experience with automated welding equipment.
• Experience with plastic injection molding equipment.
• Experience supporting new equipment installations and automation projects.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting on 480V systems.
• Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Demonstrated history of good attendance and reliability.
• Willingness to work overtime when production demands require additional maintenance support.

• $34.52/hour starting base rate.
• $1.50/hour 2nd shift premium.
