PCU RN - Night Shift (4x12)

Location: Anchorage, AK

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift, 4 days on and 12 hours each day (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM).

Job Description: We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients requiring continuous monitoring but are not in a critical condition. The PCU RN will work collaboratively within a team that includes a Virtual RN and a CNA to ensure the best outcomes for patients with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report any changes.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.
• Work collaboratively with a Virtual RN to coordinate care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic charting system.
• Participate in discharge planning and assist with admissions.
• Support and educate patients with a variety of medical conditions including cardiac and respiratory issues.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Alaska or pending application for AK RN license.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a similar setting is required.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, respiratory management, and post-operative care preferred.
