Senior Graphic Designer & Illustrator (United States)

We have a new full-time position for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our growing creative team. Royal Change is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, but we are open to exceptional remote candidates.

Royal Change is a leading online fitness, nutrition, and apparel company. We are looking for a highly creative, motivated, and resourceful Senior Graphic Designer with exceptional visual taste and the ability to develop original ideas from concept through final execution.

The ideal candidate is more than a production designer. We are looking for someone who can think conceptually, develop distinctive visual directions, create original graphics and illustrations, and help shape how the Royal Change brand comes to life across digital content, fitness programs, marketing campaigns, apparel, merchandise, and more.

The successful candidate will combine strong creative instincts with exceptional technical execution and attention to detail. We are looking for someone who can take creative direction while also bringing their own point of view, challenging ideas, proposing new concepts, and helping continually elevate the Royal Change brand.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in design and execute deliverables for all content marketing initiatives for distribution across all social media platforms including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram
• Collaborate to schedule and produce email campaigns and private membership deliverables
• Develop original creative concepts, visual identities, campaign artwork, and graphic systems for Royal Change programs, product launches, apparel collections, membership initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
• Create original illustrations, custom graphics, typography treatments, textures, iconography, and other visual elements rather than relying primarily on templates or stock assets.
• Create sophisticated photo compositions and image manipulations that transform photography into campaign-level creative.
• Design graphics and artwork for apparel and merchandise, with an understanding of how artwork translates from screen to physical product.
• Translate a single creative concept into a cohesive visual system across Instagram, YouTube, email, web, digital programs, PDFs, apparel, packaging, and other brand touchpoints.
• Generate multiple strong creative directions from an initial brief and confidently explain the thinking behind each direction.
• Collaborate with photography, video, marketing, social, and leadership to develop creative concepts from ideation through final execution.
• Maintain and evolve Royal Change's visual identity while continuously pushing the brand forward.
• Stay current on design, fashion, fitness, culture, typography, digital media, and visual trends without simply copying trends.
• Prepare production-ready artwork and maintain exceptionally organized working files, templates, asset libraries, and design systems

Skills

• Exceptional graphic design and illustration skills with a strong understanding of composition, typography, color, and visual storytelling
• Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to develop original creative ideas and multiple visual directions from concept through final execution
• Advanced photo editing, manipulation, retouching, and compositing skills
• Ability to follow creative direction while also bringing a strong creative point of view and contributing new ideas and solutions
• Strong understanding of branding with the ability to create cohesive visuals across digital, social, print, apparel, and merchandise
• Exceptional visual taste, creative judgment, and attention to detail with a high standard for finished work
• Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while managing multiple projects and shifting priorities
• Collaborative, receptive to feedback, and committed to staying current with design trends, techniques, and emerging creative tools

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Illustration, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design, illustration, branding, and original conceptual work
• 3+ years of professional graphic design and/or illustration experience preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop; proficiency in InDesign preferred
• Experience designing across digital, social media, print, and apparel/merchandise applications
• Strong understanding of current design trends, social media platforms, and digital content best practices
• Highly reliable, responsive, and organized with the ability to collaborate effectively in both remote and in-person environments
• Motion graphics, animation, and/or After Effects experience is a plus
• Passion for health, fitness, fashion, and/or digital media is a plus

Portfolio Requirements:
