HR Contractor – Payroll Expert & Immigration Support
R edwood City, CA | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)
Monday–Friday | 8 Hours per Day
About the Role
TRS Staffing is partnering with a growing organization in Redwood City to hire an HR Contractor to support payroll operations, immigration coordination, and core HR compliance. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role designed to offload administrative and operational work from the Talent Acquisition team and keep employee processes running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the work, supporting employees, and ensuring accuracy and compliance across HR processes.
What You’ll Do
Payroll Support
- Support end-to-end payroll activities, including preparing, reviewing, and assisting with payroll approvals
- Manage payroll changes, new hire setup, onboarding updates, and terminations
- Partner with Finance and Accounting; apply basic payroll accounting knowledge
- Ensure payroll data accuracy and timely execution
- (LHMP experience a plus, not required)
Immigration Support (Intermediate Level)
- Coordinate with immigration attorneys and external legal vendors
- Prepare and manage immigration-related forms and documentation
- Track timelines and support compliance requirements
- Collect and manage wet signatures and in-office documentation
- Respond to basic employee immigration questions (not an expert role)
HR Operations & Compliance
- Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries
- Support HR compliance documentation and internal processes
- Assist with internal PR/PO requests and approvals
- Provide onsite HR support as needed
Additional Support
- Assist with assembling and distributing new hire swag kits
- Support ad hoc HR administrative needs
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on payroll experience (required)
- Intermediate experience supporting employment-based immigration
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with internal stakeholders and external legal partners
- Service-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Ability to work onsite in Redwood City at least 3 days per week
Nice to Have
- Experience in HR operations in a corporate or high-growth environment
- Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems
- Strong customer-service and execution mindset

- Hybrid: 3 days onsite (may be more flexible over time)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
