Staff Accountant

MNJ is a leading technology solutions provider. We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Accounting team. This role will be onsite at our Buffalo Grove, IL office, with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, 3 days in office. Position Purpose The primary purpose of this position is to assist day-to-day areas of accounting for the MNJ businesses to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations and reporting. Position Responsibilities Perform entry, reconciliation, and ongoing review of all cloud billing transactions, including maintaining journal entries Maintain all journal entries for the prepayment schedule. Reconcile cash accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness. Compile, review, reconcile, and post vendor and customer RMA credit memos in the accounting system, promptly resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate transaction recording. Process inventory transactions for inventory lots and warehouse installations, managing all inbound and outbound warehouse movements accurately. Review, analyze, and verify approval of employee expense reports; validate supporting documentation, classify expenses in accordance with company policy and GAAP, and submit for payment. Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of company credit card and credit card clearing accounts; investigate variances and post required general ledger adjustments timely. Assist with month‑end close activities, ensuring proper period recognition of revenue, expenses, and credits, and preparing adjustments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. General understanding of accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work efficiently. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to operate in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and ability to easily learn computerized systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information. Strong written and communication skills. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with vendors, customers, employees, and the general public.
