Travel RN - TelemetryAmerican TravelerPrescott Valley, Arizona, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-05$2,143.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Med Surg Telemetry RN for a nights position requiring at least 1 year of MedSurg experience and telemetry strip interpretation skills.DetailsAcute care Med Surg Telemetry/PCU unit with 30 beds across three 10-bed unitsPatient ratios of 1:5-6Cares for surgical patients (total hip/knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap) and medical patients (MRSA, C-diff, suicide attempt, substance withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID)Telemetry patients presenting with chest painUses Cerner EMRNight shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday for nights)Holiday rotation required to fairly distribute coverageMay be required to rotate for low census standbyFirst to float among staff, including to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit, and West Campus MedSurg TeleRemote Monitor Techs support the unit, but RNs must read their own telemetry stripsNursing assistants typically care for 10-15 patients; RN provides primary care for 3 patients if no NA is availableCares for stable CPAP/BiPAP patientsRequirementsActive AZ state or compact RN license requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 1 year of MedSurg experience requiredTelemetry experience preferredMust be able to read and interpret telemetry stripsMust pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contractMust be willing to precept nursing studentsMust be willing to care for both MST and PCU patientsDriver's license copy required for considerationAdditional InformationCharge RN oversees 50 inpatient beds spanning MST, Pediatrics, and the Acuity Adaptable MCU (which admits ICU/PCU/MST patients)Any scrub color permitted except camouflageOrientation includes hospital-wide orientation plus unit-specific orientation based on experience levelNew hires complete a pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on the first day of orientationFailing the dysrhythmia or sterile technique exam twice results in ineligibility for CommonSpirit AZ and Sacramento facilities for 6 monthsCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past yearCandidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be consideredHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
