As an Unarmed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors, and document observations using computer or tablet technology. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $17.95 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Tue 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Thu 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols. Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns. Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, access control procedures, and campus event support in accordance with site requirements. Prepare clear, accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, hazards, and maintenance-related concerns to appropriate personnel. Minimum Requirements: Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
