Community Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary The Community Outreach Coordinator reports to the Program Director of the CJMHSA TAC and represents and promotes the services of the CJMHSA TAC statewide and nationwide. Responsibilities Lead proactive outreach to communities that have not previously applied for CJMHSA grants. Coordinate and conduct presentations at local meetings, community events, statewide conferences, and regional forums to promote the reinvestment grant program. Distribute TAC/Reinvestment Grant informational, marketing, and outreach materials and collect community feedback to identify local needs and barriers. Track state legislative activity to identify emerging opportunities for TAC expansion or new technical assistance priorities. Build and sustain relationships with local and regional stakeholders to strengthen the statewide network of behavioral health and justice partnerships. Support TAC's visibility through social media, newsletters, and other outreach platforms. Collaborate with the TAC team to build out and pilot new web page infrastructure. Maintain regular communication with DCF regional offices to align outreach strategies and leverage regional relationships to reach new areas. Lead the maintenance of a continuously updated internal repository of slide decks, talking points, and other outreach material to support outreach, positioning of the Center, strategic initiatives, and community engagement. Requires travel – ability to travel across the State of Florida and/or other locations as requested. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Three to five years of related experience in the behavioral health, public health, or criminal/juvenile justice fields. Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree (SB 1310). Must meet all U.S. employment eligibility requirements. Preferred: Master's degree in public health, criminal justice, behavioral health, or related fields. Skills and Knowledge Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to plan and deliver presentations to external and internal audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams). Proficiency with Qualtrics, Zoom, Canva, and the USF Content Management System. Familiarity with national and state contracts and grants; willingness to learn about the Reinvestment Grant program. Creative and engaging updates of social media pages. Excellent presentation skills and professionalism in all settings. Ability to establish contacts and serve on committees of agencies/providers. Strong problem‑solving skills and quick thinking. Knowledge of behavioral health and criminal justice concepts, including co‑occurring behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities best practice models. Understanding of Florida's behavioral health and criminal justice systems and the DCF infrastructure.
