Work Environment You will be joining a remotely operated outpatient office where flexibility and collaboration are paramount. Although the majority of your work will be performed from home, you will engage regularly with your team through virtual meetings, case conferences, and training sessions aimed at enhancing your skills and knowledge in culturally responsive practices. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain insights into clients' life experiences and craft individualized treatment plans based on their unique backgrounds. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, tailoring your approach to each client's cultural and personal context, which may include modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address varied mental health concerns, promote resilience, and enhance overall well-being. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other practitioners within our team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care, focusing on holistic approaches that foster long-term positive outcomes. Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, utilizing your training to stabilize situations and offer immediate assistance. Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatment options, and community resources, helping to demystify the treatment process and empower them to make informed decisions. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards, including compliance with HIPAA regulations. Actively participate in professional development initiatives, including case conferences and team meetings, to enhance cultural competency and share best practices with colleagues. Stay informed about current research trends and best practices related to culturally competent mental health therapy through continuous education and training. Patient Population / Client Focus Our practice primarily serves a diverse patient population encompassing ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrants. The therapist in this role will leverage their experiences and skills to address the unique challenges faced by these communities, thereby fostering an inclusive and affirming therapeutic space. You will empower clients to express their identities and navigate their mental health journeys with dignity and respect. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist. Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders alongside effective evidence-based treatment approaches, with a strong emphasis on cultural competence in therapeutic settings. Proven experience in delivering individual and group therapy in culturally responsive manners, leveraging a variety of therapeutic modalities. Exceptional crisis intervention skills, capable of navigating challenging situations with composure and professionalism. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with various computer applications to track and manage patient records effectively. A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to the overall team dynamics. Preferred Experience Experience working in multicultural settings, especially in outpatient mental health services or community mental health environments. Strong background in therapeutic techniques tailored for diverse populations, including specific experience with immigrants or marginalized communities. Leadership experience or involvement in mentorship programs related to mental health practices. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
