Overview Case Manager-ECBO — Full Time, Clerical, Houston, TX, US. Salary Range: $47,223.02 Annually Job Summary Candidates appointed as Case Manager will be placed in one of two programs: Employment and Housing. The Employment program focuses on outreach for eligible homeless and unemployed Texas residents, providing services such as benefits information, emergency shelter or housing referrals, job training, job placement, and follow-up services. The Housing program focuses on housing placement services, temporary financial assistance, emergency housing when necessary, and other support to stabilize at‑risk families and prevent homelessness. Case Managers coordinate with other programs to avoid duplication of services and maintain client confidentiality and professional conduct. Job Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and submit support service requests as needed. Prepare and submit MIS data information on the client cases as required. Process support services requests and collect verification receipts for all expenses. Maintain clients’ files, including documentation, case notes, and follow-ups; prepare all applicable client correspondence. Work toward achieving client goals and develop corrective action plans as needed. Assist in preparing documents, reports, literature, or presentations. Understand the nuances of the veterans’ community and demonstrate sensitivity and patience with clients. Maintain confidentiality of client information, donors, team members, and related information; disclose on a need-to-know basis only. Treat program participants with respect and professional care. Housing Develop a case management plan with the client to assess needs and barriers and address them. Provide housing placement assistance, temporary financial assistance, and other supports to stabilize at-risk veteran families from homelessness. Coordinate or provide assistance with VA benefits, public benefits, healthcare, daily living services, financial planning, transportation, fiduciary/payee services, legal services, childcare, and housing counseling services. Job Requirements Must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 3 years’ experience in a role interacting with low-income individuals or families, veterans, and case management in employment-related fields preferred. Or an Associate’s Degree with at least 5 years’ related experience. Must have transportation and a valid Texas driver’s license; must provide proof of current vehicle liability insurance. Must pass a drug test and background check. Skills & Abilities Typing and computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong understanding of the challenges faced by applicants; professional and productive demeanor; support for others. Effective verbal and written communication; ability to speak before groups when necessary; ability to make independent decisions aligned with service objectives. Travel Primarily local during the business day; some out-of-area travel may be required by management discretion.
