Customer Service Associate I, Family Dollar

Customer Service Associate IFamily Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and ensure every customer enjoys a warm, welcoming, and satisfying shopping experience. This position plays a key role in assisting customers, managing transactions, and maintaining store standards that reflect Family Dollar's commitment to value and service.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and product recommendations.Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently at the assigned cash register.Maintain cash security and safeguard company assets.Keep the store well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.Support unloading of trucks, merchandise receiving, and stock replenishment in line with productivity standards.Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful shopping environment for customers and team members.Handle cleaning duties including restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and ensuring overall store cleanliness.Perform other duties as assigned by store leadership.Skills & QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: Prior experience in customer service within retail, grocery, restaurant, or similar environments is highly preferred.Technical Skills: Ability to follow instructions, read and interpret operational documents.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height; frequent standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting required.Soft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesSound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsFriendly, professional, and customer-first attitudePerks & BenefitsFamily Dollar offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being, including:Medical, dental, vision, and pharmacy coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Retirement plansEducational Assistance ProgramAnd more!
