About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to spearhead a transformative fundraising strategy. The CDO will be responsible for designing and leading a multi-year, comprehensive fundraising plan that diversifies the organization's funding base and fosters year-over-year philanthropic growth. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, including the direct solicitation and closing of major gifts and corporate partnerships. The successful candidate will work closely with the Co-Founder and CEO, and the President, to align fundraising strategies with the organization's mission and goals. Key responsibilities include identifying and prioritizing funding opportunities, setting clear revenue goals, and managing a team to ensure the successful execution of the fundraising program. Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in team management, be adept at building and nurturing relationships, and have a data-informed mindset. A deep commitment to the mission of the organization is essential, and familiarity with the philanthropic community is a plus. The CDO will also be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including programmatic and creative staff, to ensure that fundraising efforts are in line with the organization's priorities. The role demands a leader who is both strategic and hands-on, capable of representing the organization with confidence to funders, partners, and the philanthropic community at large.
