About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its fundraising strategy and resource development efforts. The CDO will be responsible for securing the philanthropic support necessary to sustain and grow the organization's annual budget, with a strong focus on both institutional and individual giving. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan, overseeing all aspects of donor engagement, and supervising a team dedicated to the mission. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, including major gift solicitation, and will be adept at leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strategic leadership, team management, and a deep commitment to the organization's mission are essential. Candidates for the CDO position at the company should have at least 12 years' of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a minimum of 7 years' in development staff management. The role requires a leader with a strong connection to the mission, the ability to navigate complex geopolitical and philanthropic landscapes, and a commitment to the principles of modern fundraising. The CDO will work closely with the Executive Team to shape organizational strategy and ensure that fundraising efforts align with the company's goals. Experience in integrating various giving programs, as well as a proven ability to recruit, lead, and develop fundraising professionals, is necessary. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, dedicated to continuous improvement, and will have superb communication skills to serve as a public-facing ambassador for the organization.
