Vice President - Workforce Strategy & Employee Relations

Keller Executive Search

Our client, a well-established national organization, is seeking an experienced senior leader to oversee enterprise-wide workforce relations and labor strategy within a large, operationally complex environment. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to strengthen workplace culture, reduce organizational risk, support informed leadership decisions, and guide labor strategy across both represented and non-represented employee groups. This opportunity is ideal for a highly respected leader who is comfortable operating in fast-moving, decentralized organizations and who can manage sensitive workforce matters with strong judgment, discretion, and commercial insight. Responsibilities Enterprise Workforce Strategy Develop practical frameworks that encourage consistency, accountability, and strong leadership practices across multiple locations Advise senior leaders on sensitive employee matters, operational risk, and workforce planning considerations Design and implement organization-wide approaches related to workforce relations, leadership support, and organizational effectiveness Labor Strategy & Negotiations Support proactive relationship management with represented employee groups and external stakeholders Lead labor strategy and oversee negotiations, contract administration, and dispute resolution activities Guide leadership teams through complex labor-related situations while balancing operational priorities and long-term workforce stability Employee Relations & Organizational Risk Identify patterns and recurring concerns that may affect retention, morale, or operational performance Oversee high-level employee relations matters, including investigations, workplace concerns, corrective action, and escalated leadership issues Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure employment practices remain compliant, fair, and aligned with organizational standards Leadership Partnership Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on workforce relations and organizational support Build strong cross-functional relationships and act as a trusted advisor across the enterprise Coach and support senior leaders through organizational change, workforce challenges, and complex people-related situations Essential Proven success managing confidential, high-impact organizational matters Bachelor’s degree required Deep knowledge of employment legislation and labor practices 15+ years of senior-level experience in labor relations, employee relations, workforce strategy, or human resources leadership Strong background in labor negotiations, workforce risk management, and employment-related investigations Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership Demonstrated experience managing complex workforce environments across multiple locations or business units Preferred Experience supporting large-scale operational organizations Graduate degree or advanced professional certification Strong track record of developing and mentoring teams Experience building scalable employee relations frameworks and leadership capability programs Background leading workforce initiatives in unionized environments This position offers a comprehensive executive compensation package, including: Base salary range: $160,000 to $280,000 (depending on experience) Annual incentive opportunity Comprehensive health and wellness benefits Retirement savings program with company contribution Additional long-term growth opportunities within the organization Equal Employment Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Policy Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Both Keller Executive Search and our clients are Equal Opportunity Employers.
