Sonographer

Pay range: $31.65-$51.29 per hour (based on direct and relevant experience). The position: Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist (part‑time, Monday‑Friday 4:00 pm‑8:00 pm, no weekends or call). You will operate assigned sonography scanners to produce diagnostic images of the patient’s body and provide excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sonography Imaging (90%) Screens patients before exam for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure. Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures, positioning patients appropriately. Performs routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout. Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly as needed. Follows physician orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Maintains an orderly and clean work area, sanitizing equipment, to promote patient and team safety. Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements. Sonography Department Support (5%) Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades. Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary. Assist with training of new team members, providing technical expertise. Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Complete other tasks and projects as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, OB‑GYN, etc.). Licensed sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Required training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
