Empower student growth and development in a rewarding special education teaching opportunity based in North Carolina. This contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, providing consistency and a chance to truly make a difference throughout the school year. Enjoy a full-time role, Monday through Friday, with permitted hours up to 40 each week.
In this dynamic role, you’ll manage a caseload of 15-18 middle and high school students, focusing on those with higher levels of autism who follow the extended content standard. Openings are present at three distinct sites, each catering to different special education needs—from adapted curriculum instruction to resource and inclusion support.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current licensure in Adapted Curriculum for special education (required for specific site)
- Demonstrated experience or coursework in supporting students with significant autism
- Familiarity with extended content standards and individualized educational planning
- Ability to collaborate closely with classroom staff, therapists, and families
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a team-oriented mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs across multiple school settings
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment
- Track and assess student progress, making data-informed adjustments as needed
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members
