Passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs? This contract opportunity offers a meaningful chance to make a difference in the lives of students in an engaging school environment. Multiple roles are available for experienced Special Education professionals: 3rd-5th grade resource/inclusion teacher, 6th-8th grade resource/inclusion teacher, and an elementary self-contained classroom teacher specializing in serving students with significant Autism.
Ideal candidates will bring strong instructional strategies, collaborative skills, and a commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom communities. You’ll work alongside dedicated educators and support staff to create impactful learning experiences tailored to individual student needs.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential (or equivalent)
- Experience in resource/inclusion settings for 3rd-5th and/or 6th-8th grades
- Expertise working with elementary-aged students with significant Autism (for self-contained role)
- Solid understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and modifications
- Patience and flexibility when adapting to diverse learning abilities
- Strong communication skills with parents, teachers, and support staff
- Ability to implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and interventions to students based on IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure inclusion and seamless support
- Develop and adapt learning materials to meet a range of abilities and needs
- Track and report student progress, making data-informed instructional decisions
- Foster a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
