Chief of Staff

The Role IcyBox is looking for a Chief of Staff to partner directly with senior leadership and turn company priorities into crisp execution. This is a high‑impact, execution‑focused role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and knows how to get things done across a complex, fast‑changing organization. You'll be the connective tissue between leadership, operations, marketing, product, finance, recruiting, and external partners: owning projects, closing gaps, creating clarity, and making sure nothing important falls through the cracks. You’ll help build the operating foundation that lets IcyBox scale from a fast‑moving watch commerce and mystery box business into a durable consumer brand. This role is ideal for someone who is analytically sharp, operationally strong, and energized by being close to the center of the business. You'll get exposure to strategic decisions, company‑building problems, and cross‑functional execution from day one, with the autonomy to identify what needs to happen and drive it forward yourself. This is not a purely administrative role. It's a builder/operator role for someone who can move from a spreadsheet to a vendor call to a hiring process to a leadership memo without losing momentum. Some days you’ll be clarifying priorities. Some days you’ll be unblocking a launch. Some days you’ll be building a system that makes the company better every week after you’re done. What You’ll Do Take on special projects across the company where ownership is ambiguous, bandwidth is thin, or execution needs to move faster. Spot gaps before they become problems, then build the systems, processes, relationships, or accountability loops needed to close them. Serve as the connective tissue between leadership and the rest of the company: surfacing misalignment, clarifying priorities, and keeping follow‑through tight. Own recurring operating rhythms, including leadership meetings, weekly business reviews, planning docs, decision trackers, and cross‑functional follow‑ups. Support launch execution by coordinating across marketing, product, operations, procurement, customer success, finance, and creative teams. Help leadership stay focused by synthesizing messy information into clear options, recommendations, and next steps. Build lightweight reporting and operating dashboards that show the team what’s working, what’s blocked, and what needs attention now. Support recruiting operations: helping define roles, coordinate interview processes, prepare candidate materials, and keep hiring priorities moving. Own or support vendor, agency, contractor, and partner workflows, including research, negotiation support, performance tracking, and renewals. Step into urgent or high‑priority problems when the owner is unclear, and create a path to resolution. Create documentation, templates, and operating playbooks that make repeatable work easier as IcyBox scales. What We’re Looking For 3+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture, business operations, strategy, startups, or a similarly demanding analytical environment. A track record of taking ambiguous, complex initiatives and driving them to completion without needing a detailed playbook. Strong analytical instincts and comfort building a business case from scratch using imperfect information. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to synthesize complexity and present it simply to senior stakeholders. High ownership and strong follow‑through: you’re the person who makes hard things actually get done. Low ego and strong relationship instincts. You influence through clarity, trust, and execution rather than title. Strong organizational systems and attention to detail, especially across multiple parallel workstreams. Comfort operating in a fast‑moving environment where priorities shift and the answer isn’t always obvious. Genuine curiosity about consumer brands, watches, marketplaces, paid growth, operations, and how a high‑growth company actually works. Willingness to do both strategic and unglamorous work, from building a plan to chasing down a blocker. Nice to Have Experience at a high‑growth startup or consumer company. Experience with e‑commerce, marketplaces, luxury goods, watches, collectibles, or consumer apps. Familiarity with operating tools like Notion, spreadsheets, dashboards, project trackers, CRM tools, or lightweight automation. Experience supporting founders, executives, or senior operators directly.
