Client Overview A prominent municipal government entity supporting a thriving community with a dynamic, structured municipal environment is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team. Salary/Hourly Rate $28.85/hr - $32.50/hr Position Overview We are seeking an ambitious Staff Accountant looking to step into a challenging role with strong growth and promotion potential. Working within a collaborative team of approximately seven professionals, this position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor. Responsibilities Of The Staff Accountant
- Perform daily accounting operations and general ledger maintenance.
- Assist with month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Support financial tracking, reporting, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with team members to manage workflow demands and streamline accounting functions.
- 2 to 3 years of professional accounting experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs.
- Strong drive to be challenged, learn, and advance professionally within an organization.
- Prior background or exposure to Government Accounting.
- Familiarity with Tyler Munis software.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage provided following the successful completion of the initial temporary period.
- Enjoy a compressed schedule with three-day weekends year-round (Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Fridays off).
