SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Development and Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting and executing the Firm’s marketing, business development, public relations, advertising and communications initiatives. This management-level role works closely with Firm leadership, attorneys, practice groups and the marketing team to help advance business development strategies, strengthen the Firm’s brand visibility, coordinate marketing projects and support client development efforts across the Firm’s offices and practices. This is an exempt position, and the individual is not eligible for overtime pay. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage day-to-day marketing projects, delegated assignments and execution support across key marketing and business development priorities. Drive follow-through, internal coordination and responsiveness to high-priority Firm initiatives. Work with the Executive Director of Development and Marketing, Firm leaders, practice groups and client teams to identify opportunities, target audiences and strategies that support client development, cross-selling and brand awareness. Support the development, execution and tracking of practice-based marketing and business development plans designed to expand existing client relationships and generate new opportunities. Assist with the Firm’s pitch and proposal process, including templates, informal proposals, RFP responses and related business development materials. Coordinate business development initiatives for practice groups, client teams, markets and individual partners, including creation, tracking and follow-up. Collaborate with attorneys, administrative teams and marketing vendors to achieve marketing and business development objectives. Identify and coordinate writing, speaking, award, media, advertising and other visibility opportunities for the Firm and its attorneys. Draft, edit and proofread attorney biographies, practice descriptions, press releases, announcements, proposals, advertisements and other promotional materials. Occasional travel to other Firm locations as needed. Works a minimum of 40 hours per week and additional hours as necessary. KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS, WORK EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred. Broad marketing and business development experience, including public relations, content, events, awards, advertising and communications. Four to seven years of marketing, communications or business development experience; law firm or professional services experience preferred. Strong project management abilities, including setting priorities, planning, organization, follow-through, collaboration and deadline management. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, vendors and external contacts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; knowledge of design, editing, and marketing technology platforms preferred. Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines. Team-oriented, flexible and willing to assist where needed to support department and Firm priorities. Ability to act professionally and display diplomacy when dealing with all levels of personnel and outside vendors. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
