Project Accountant

StevenDouglas is partnering with a client in search of a Project Accountant on a contract to hire basis. This position will work in office on a hybrid basis in NW Houston. Responsibilities: Oversee accounts payable and expense management, including review of supplier invoices, employee expense reports, and credit card reconciliations. Review and issue invoices in collaboration with project managers Monitor aged receivables and assist with collection activities. Assist with credit management and customer account maintenance. File and remit taxes, including sales and use tax and property tax. Prepare journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, payroll journals, and intercompany transactions. Reconcile balance sheet and control accounts monthly. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash book management. Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to close schedules. Support project setup, maintenance, and financial administration within the ERP system. Assist with intercompany accounting. Support annual audits. Support compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives and documentation updates. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, project accounting, and accounts payable and receivable. Experience in project-based, engineering, consulting, or professional services organizations preferred. Experience with ERP systems (Deltek, IFS, etc.) #J-18808-Ljbffr
