Senior Project Accountant

Senior Project Accountant | Real Estate Development $90 - 95K + bonus Houston, TX (Hybrid) A well-established Houston-based real estate development firm is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join their growing team. This role will support large-scale master-planned community and land development projects , working closely with project managers and leadership on financial oversight from acquisition through completion. This is a high-visibility role with strong long-term growth potential within a stable, highly respected organization. What You'll Do Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple real estate development projects Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and variances Prepare and review monthly financials for active developments Maintain and monitor job cost reporting and project-level forecasting Partner with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting Support draw requests, funding, and cash flow management Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners (developers, lenders, etc.) What We're Looking For 5+ years of accounting experience within real estate development or construction Strong understanding of job costing / project accountingExperience with development accounting (land, horizontal, or vertical projects) Familiarity with WIP / percentage of completion (POC) preferred Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Advanced Excel skills Why This Opportunity?
