As a national leader in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and materials testing and inspection, we collaborate on transformative projects across transportation, energy, water, healthcare, and more.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Construction Materials Testing to support our engineering and project management operations. This position requires an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and will be responsible for technical review, approval, and signing/sealing of materials testing reports.ResponsibilitiesReview, approve, and sign/seal materials testing reports in accordance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and professional engineering requirements.Provide technical oversight for construction materials testing activities, including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials.Support project teams with technical questions, field issues, testing discrepancies, and engineering recommendations.Serve as technical resource for clients, contractors, consultants, and internal staff.Provide timely technical guidance and assist in resolving complex field and project-related issues.Manage CMT projects, including project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, deliverables, and clients' expectations.Review laboratory and field testing results for accuracy, completeness, compliance and engineering significance.Coordinate with field technicians, laboratory personnel, engineers, project managers, and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Train, mentor and provide technical guidance to engineer, engineering interns, technicians and other project personnel.Participate in client meetings and provide engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle.Assist with proposals, project planning, scope development, and other project management activities as needed.Perform additional engineering and project management responsibilities as required.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, or Geotechnical Engineering.5+ years of progressive engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license required.Valid driver's license and clean driving record; travel as neededProficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) and project documentation toolsSolid knowledge of industry regulations, construction practices, and risk managementEffective communication and leadership skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.Preferred QualificationsProfessional experience in construction materials testing, engineering or construction related services.Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, engineering standards, specifications and applicable codes.Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non technical clients.Experience managing Materials Testing Engineering projectsTravel RequirementsThis position requires moderate travel, approximately up to 40% of the time, in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments.
