This Junior Accountant position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with reconciliations, journal entries, and core accounting fundamentals. The Junior Accountant will be heavily involved in general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities, contributing directly to reliable financial reporting.This role offers excellent exposure for a Junior Accountant looking to strengthen technical accounting skills within a complex transportation operation.Key Responsibilities of the Junior AccountantPerform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations, including:Bank accountsFuel card programsVendor accountsBalance sheet accountsPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, adjustments, prepaid expenses, and depreciationAnalyze general ledger activity and ensure proper debit and credit application as a detail-focused Junior AccountantInvestigate and resolve discrepancies by partnering with AP, AR, operations, and maintenance teamsSupport month-end close by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and variance explanationsMaintain documentation and support internal controls to ensure financial accuracyQualifications for the Junior Accountant1–3 years of experience as a Junior Accountant or in a similar entry-level accounting roleStrong understanding of debits and credits, general ledger structure, and accounting fundamentalsHigh attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively across cross-functional teamsComfortable working under deadlines in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment
