Details Medical/Surgical-Telemetry unit within a hospital setting 36 hours/week on a rotating Day/Night schedule (3x12 hours) Rotating shifts occur every 4 weeks, with the same shift held for 4 weeks before switching Schedule includes weekdays and some weekends Floating required within the OSU health system Requirements Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience with strong acute care background Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation, management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams Experience with isolation precautions/PPE IV therapy/phlebotomy skills including peripheral line care and PICC line management Experience starting and maintaining IVs Experience with neurological/psychiatric patients and substance withdrawal management 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted Additional Information Care for a Med/Surg-Tele patient population including respiratory, cardiac, and neurological/psychiatric cases PCU experience is not required for this role First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees at any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler position RTO must be submitted and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract as part of the credentialing process American Traveler Job ID P-740120.
