Details Work on a 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU-level care Care for adult patients with solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses Rare pediatric patients may be present but are primarily cared for by permanent staff Day (7:00-19:30) or Night (19:00-7:30) 3x12-hour shifts, with potential for a rotating D/N schedule based on department needs Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, with changes based on staffing priorities Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for Med Surg Telemetry and 1:3 for PCU Weekend shifts are variable Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Uses B450 GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and PCA pumps Continuous Bladder Irrigation equipment used Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of current acute care nursing experience within the last 12 months At least 1 year of PCU experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Teaching hospital experience preferred Required skills: interpretation of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, feeding tube care, port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management Preferred skills: dysrhythmia management, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, phlebotomy, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, wound care/wound vac, arterial line management, surgical drains, and non-invasive airway management 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide high-acuity progressive care nursing with a strong focus on infection prevention and fall prevention protocols Oncology experience preferred but not required Candidates should be willing to learn and grow their nursing practice; prior travel experience is not required Locals accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler RTO must be submitted with the contract and built in, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines American Traveler Job ID P-745579.
