Manager, Editorial Services - Spanish

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance. LA28 is the independent, non‑profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 2028 Games will be the first U.S. Summer Games in 32 years and the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Olympic Games, marking a historic moment for the city and country. The Manager, Editorial Services (Spanish) will support the development and delivery of all official Games publications and editorial content in Spanish and English. The role combines copywriting, editing, visual communication, translation and cross‑functional coordination to ensure clear, consistent, accessible and brand‑aligned content for athletes, spectators, media and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Draft and edit high‑quality content for stakeholder‑facing materials including playbooks, venue guides, factsheets, FAQs and signage. Translate select publications, content, and promotional messages from English to Spanish. Tailor content for different audiences, platforms and accessibility requirements. Proofread, fact‑check, and refine content to ensure accuracy, tone consistency and editorial guideline alignment. Support the maintenance of editorial templates, style guides and terminology databases. Serve as LA28’s official Spanish translator for publications, editorial and promotional content. Work with AI language models to ensure translations are culturally relevant. Collaborate with design and brand teams to layout documents and create visually compelling editorial assets. Ensure all materials meet LA28 visual identity standards and accessibility guidelines. Support the planning and production of print and digital publications, from concept to delivery, including timelines, file preparation and vendor coordination. Source and manage imagery for editorial use, ensuring appropriate rights clearance and brand alignment. Background & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, and/or Spanish required. Fluency in Spanish—both written and verbal communication—required. Experience translating publications from English to Spanish required. Minimum 5+ years of experience in editorial, publishing or copywriting. Minimum 5+ years of experience editing copy in English and Spanish. Strong writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to produce written content for diverse audiences. Proficiency with design and layout tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or equivalent. Experience working on multi‑stakeholder or large‑scale projects, ideally in events, media or sports. Familiarity with editorial workflows and cross‑functional collaboration. Familiarity with AI tools. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Available to work onsite in a downtown Los Angeles office. Work primarily in an office setting, requiring extended periods using computers, phones and other equipment. Open‑floorplan environment; employees must work efficiently in an open cubicle layout. Hours may vary, including evenings, weekends and holidays, especially during peak event periods. Perform other duties as required; role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Games. The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 – $115,000.00. Compensation is subject to final determination based on individual qualifications and experience.
