Role Description This part-time, on-site Accountant role is based at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s office in Everett, WA. The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing financial reports, supporting budget development and monitoring, processing invoices and expense reimbursements, and assisting with grant and project accounting. The role also involves ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and organizational policies, coordinating with program staff on financial tracking, and supporting annual audit and tax preparation. The Accountant will collaborate with leadership to provide clear financial data that supports informed decision-making and the foundation’s environmental mission. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in bookkeeping and general accounting, including managing ledgers, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems, Microsoft Excel) and strong data entry accuracy. Knowledge of budgeting, grant or fund accounting, and basic principles of nonprofit or small-organizational finance. Ability to interpret financial information, maintain organized records, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a financial context. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance colleagues. Ability to work on-site in Everett, WA, collaborate effectively with a small team, and handle confidential information responsibly. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; relevant experience in an accounting role may substitute for formal education.
