Pre-K Assistant

Overview Lumpkin County Schools is seeking applicants for a PreK Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The Pre‑K Assistant supports the instructional program in the assigned Pre‑Kindergarten (4 and 5 year old) classroom, works with individual and/or small groups of students, and provides clerical support to teachers and staff. The position reports to the Pre‑K Director. Responsibilities Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments, including reading stories, writing assistance, reinforcing language skills, numbers, alphabet, and computer learning programs. Help students practice and reinforce learning concepts to reach academic goals and grade‑level standards. Monitor students in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips) to provide a safe and positive learning environment. Perform all other duties as assigned and required. Qualifications Applicants must hold a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate or be eligible for certification by taking the paraprofessional GACE or having a minimum associate’s degree (or equivalent coursework) before employment. Minimum Qualification: High School Diploma. Expected hours: No more than 40 per week.
