Overview
Meltech Corp., Inc. is seeking an energetic, results-driven, and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager / Project Manager to lead and oversee federal construction projects from inception through closeout. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to manage complex design-build and design-bid-build projects for federal agencies, military installations, secure government facilities, and mission-critical environments throughout the United States and, when required, internationally.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, sound business judgment, and a proactive approach to project execution. This individual will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
This position is ideal for a construction professional with extensive federal construction experience, a strong understanding of government contracting, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects in both CONUS and OCONUS environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of federal construction projects while ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously from award through final completion and warranty closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules utilizing Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
- Oversee project teams, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), facility representatives, and project stakeholders.
- Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, billing, cost controls, cash flow management, and profitability.
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, drawings, submittals, and technical documentation to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate design-build activities with architects, engineers, consultants, and government representatives.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, modifications, change orders, Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), procurement activities, and project documentation.
- Negotiate subcontract agreements, vendor contracts, and purchase orders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, safety compliance, quality control, and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulations, contract requirements, quality standards, security requirements, and safety programs.
- Utilize industry-standard construction management tools including Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and similar platforms.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Support proposal reviews, project pursuits, capture efforts, and business development initiatives as needed.
- Mentor and develop project team members while fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Coordinate project execution across both domestic (CONUS) and international (OCONUS) project locations when required.
Required Qualification s
Project Manager
- Minimum 7+ years of federal construction project management experience.
Senior Project Manager
- Minimum 10+ years of federal construction project management experience.
Additional Requirements
- Proven experience managing federal construction projects from award through closeout.
- Demonstrated experience managing design-build and design-bid-build construction projects .
- Experience managing projects for federal agencies such as:
- Department of Defense (DoD)
- General Services Administration (GSA)
- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
- Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
- Intelligence Community agencies
- Other federal government clients
- Experience managing projects within active military installations, secure government facilities, or restricted-access environments.
- Strong understanding of federal contracting procedures, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration.
- Experience managing subcontractors, self-perform work, and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Procore
- Bluebeam
- Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Construction financial management and reporting systems
- Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with government personnel and project stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
Security Clearance Requirements
Required
- Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred
- Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) Clearance.
Highly Desired Experience
- Classified construction projects.
- Secure government facilities.
- Intelligence Community projects.
- SCIF construction, renovation, or modernization projects.
- Military installations and restricted-access environments.
- Projects involving heightened security, operational sensitivity, and strict access control requirements.
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of working within secure environments, coordinating access requirements, and maintaining compliance with security protocols associated with classified construction activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- PMP, CCM, DBIA, OSHA 30, or similar industry certifications.
- Experience with IDIQ, MATOC, SATOC, and MACC contract vehicles.
- Experience with occupied renovations and phased construction.
- Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, laboratories, aviation facilities, secure communications facilities, and critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing both CONUS and OCONUS federal construction projects .
- Experience coordinating overseas logistics, remote project teams, and international construction operations.
- Experience supporting projects for military, diplomatic, intelligence, or overseas federal installations.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $150,000 - $210,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and clearance level.
