WHO WE ARE

SharkNinja makes Shark and Ninja. SN Studios in Irvine is where our content creators shoot demo content for YouTube and social. They test product past the point of reason and film what happens. Blenders against frozen everything. Vacuums against messes nobody should make on purpose. Grills doing indoors what grills are not supposed to do indoors. Then the cards come to you.

THE JOB

Take what we shot and make people stop scrolling. You are not waiting on a locked script and a timecoded paper cut. We hand you demo footage and you come back with options. Three hooks. Two structures. A sixty and a fifteen. A version leading with the bowling ball and a version saving it. You bring the cuts, we watch them, and somebody in the room says heck yeah. That is the bar. Heck yeah, out loud, in the room. This role sits between production and post, which is why we call it the pre-editor. You have real creative authority over how the story gets told. Nobody hands you the answer. You find it in the footage and you argue for it.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

The first three seconds Build hooks landing before somebody's thumb finishes moving. No logo, no wind up, no setup shot. Cut multiple hooks off one shoot and let them compete. The best one is rarely the first one. Find the frame nobody noticed on set. Every card has one. Know when to open on the payoff and when to make people wait eight seconds for it. The story Tell it the way social tells it. Problem, tension, proof, payoff, all inside a minute. Structure for the platform. A YouTube cut and a TikTok cut are different films, not different crops. Cut for the sound off and the sound on. Both have to work. Protect the demo. The moment the product does the impossible thing is the moment everything else serves. The craft Premiere or Resolve at speed. Clean projects, sane organization, nothing lost. Sound design carrying the weight. A motor spinning up should feel like something. Motion, type, and captions doing real narrative work, not decoration. Pace, rhythm, and music selection sharp enough to hold a viewer who owes you nothing. Deliver every ratio and length off one edit. Sixty, thirty, fifteen, six, vertical, square, wide. The trends Live on TikTok, Reels, and YouTube. Know what is working this month and why, not what worked last year. Steal structure, never style. We want our own look running on formats proven to hold attention. Call the trends worth chasing and the ones worth skipping. Both answers are useful. Bring references to the room. It is faster to show us than tell us. The scoreboard Read retention curves like a director reads dailies. Find the second people left. Recut and repost. A video underperforming is a first draft, not a verdict. Test hooks head to head and let the numbers settle it.

WHAT YOU BRING

3 to 5 years cutting social video. Brand, agency, creator, or your own channel. We care about the work, not the logo on it. A reel proving you hold attention. Send the videos performing, and tell us why they did. Premiere or Resolve, plus After Effects. Bonus for real sound design chops. Speed. Footage on Monday, options on Wednesday, live by Friday. Volume without a drop in quality. Some weeks are one hero cut. Some weeks are twenty. Producer instincts. You spot the story in the footage and pitch it, rather than waiting to be told. A point of view you will defend, and the grace to lose the argument and cut it the other way. Fluency in what makes people stop, save, and send.

WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT

You sit twenty feet from the people who shot it, so a question takes ten seconds instead of an email chain. You get a say in what we shoot next. Editors see what is missing before anybody else does. Monday footage. Friday live. No six week approval chain. Your cuts run across more than 30 markets, on retailer sites, in paid media, and on our own channels.

HOW TO APPLY

Send a reel or three cuts you are proud of. Then find any Shark or Ninja demo video online, watch it, and tell us in a few sentences how you would recut it. Tell us the hook you would use instead. We read every one, and a good answer here matters more to us than your resume. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below.
