About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Medical Affairs to lead the development and execution of key medical affairs strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and providing overall leadership for the medical affairs function, including supervising field medical science liaisons, overseeing clinical and scientific publications, and developing patient advocacy relationships. This role requires a deep understanding of government and industry guidelines, regulations, and laws governing scientific and medical exchange, and the ability to set the standard for compliant communication. The VP will also be involved in prelaunch and post-launch activities, with a focus on a women's health indication, and will be expected to track the competitive landscape and ensure the presentation of clinical data at major congresses and in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. Applicants for the VP, Medical Affairs position at the company should have an advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD, with MD preferred) and at least 15 years of professional experience in biotech or pharma, with a focus on medical affairs or related functions. A minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience, including building high-performing teams, is also required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in attracting and developing top talent, building interdependent partnerships, and fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the willingness to travel to represent the company at medical conferences and other events.
